The Bells
Album by Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff & Vladimir Ashkenazy & Česká filharmonie
The Bells is a choral symphony by Sergei Rachmaninov, composed in 1913. Combining symphonic and choral forces with lyrical melodies, rich late-Romantic harmonies and vivid orchestral colour, it explores sombre and celebratory moods and is one of Rachmaninov's large-scale vocal-orchestral works from his mature period.
