Streichquartette Nr. 14 & Nr. 16 are late string quartets by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1826. They are chamber works that have dense harmonic language and concentrated forms, with compact motifs and contrapuntal textures, and they were written at the end of Beethoven's life when his music moved toward greater introspection and formal innovation.
