Symphony No. 8 is a choral symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, premiered in 1910. A vast late-Romantic work combining a large orchestra with multiple choirs and soloists, it synthesises symphonic and vocal forces into a dense, organ-like sonic palette and occupies a prominent place in Mahler's late-period output and the history of large-scale orchestral-choral composition.
