The Brandenburg Concertos are a set of six concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in 1721. They are examples of Baroque concerto form with contrasting solo and ensemble textures, varied instrumentation across the six works, counterpoint and ritornello structures, and they were composed during Bach's time in Köthen and assembled as a set sent to the Margrave of Brandenburg.
