Symphony no. 7

Album by Gustav Mahler & Michael Tilson Thomas & London Symphony Orchestra

Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1905. It is a large-scale late-Romantic orchestral work characterised by varied instrumental colour, nocturnal atmospheres and contrasting scherzo and march elements, and it occupies a transitional position in Mahler's output between his middle and late periods as he expanded his approach to orchestration and form.
