This release is a recording of two serenades by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1779 and 1787. Both pieces exemplify Mozart's Classical-era serenade writing, combining graceful, lyrical melodies with clear homophonic textures and contrasting wind and string colours intended for social and ceremonial settings, and they illustrate his evolving approach to orchestral balance and public entertainment between the late 1770s and late 1780s.
