The Dream of Gerontius is an oratorio by English composer Edward Elgar, completed in 1900. The work is a large-scale late-Romantic choral-orchestral setting of a religious poem, notable for its expansive orchestration and demanding solo and choral writing, and it played a prominent role in establishing Elgar's reputation within the early 20th-century English choral tradition.
