Turangalîla - Symphonie

Turangalîla-Symphonie is a large-scale symphonic work by French composer Olivier Messiaen, completed in 1949. The score employs an expanded orchestra with prominent piano and ondes Martenot, complex additive rhythms, modal and nontraditional harmonic colours, and cyclical formal procedures, representing a consolidation of Messiaen's rhythmic and harmonic language and an ambitious expansion of mid-20th-century orchestral vocabulary.
