Canto Ostinato

Canto Ostinato is a composition by Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt, completed between 1976 and 1979. The piece exemplifies post-minimalist technique with repeating, slowly shifting patterns and an open, modular structure that allows performers to determine repetition and duration, and it occupies a central place in ten Holt's output and in late 20th-century Dutch contemporary music.
