Album by Alexander Porfyrevich Borodin & Государственный академический симфонический оркестр России & Evgeny Fyodorovich Svetlanov
Symphony No. 2 'Épique' is the second symphony by Russian composer Alexander Borodin, completed in 1876. The work features expansive orchestral textures, pronounced brass and string writing and a mixture of sweeping lyricism and rhythmic vigour that marked a mature consolidation of Borodin's compositional voice and contributed to the development of Russian symphonic music in the late nineteenth century.
