Symphonie No. 6

Album by Gustav Mahler & Duisburger Philharmoniker & Jonathan Darlington

Symphonie No. 6 is the sixth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1904. The work is a large-scale late-Romantic symphony scored for full orchestra, characterised by dramatic orchestration, stark dynamic contrasts and intense rhythmic drive, and it occupies a central place in Mahler's middle-period output and in the early 20th-century symphonic repertoire.
