Symphonie No. 9 is the ninth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1909 and premiered in 1912. The four-movement orchestral work exemplifies late-Romantic writing through expansive forms, dense textures, stark dynamic contrasts and moments of introspective quiet, and it occupies a decisive place in Mahler's late output as one of his final completed works.
