The Song Book

Album by Booker Ervin

The Song Book is a studio album by American tenor saxophonist Booker Ervin, released in 1964. Musically it is rooted in hard bop and post-bop, with Ervin's robust tenor sound and blues-inflected phrasing applied to song-based arrangements, and it follows his work with Charles Mingus as part of his early solo career.
