Symphony no. 6
Album by Gustav Mahler & Rundfunk‐Sinfonieorchester Saarbrücken & Hans Zender
Symphony No. 6 is the sixth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1904. The work is a large-scale late-Romantic symphony characterised by dramatic contrasts, expansive orchestration, intense rhythmic drive and tragic motifs, and it occupies a pivotal place in Mahler's middle-period output as he explored more concentrated forms and darker emotional territory.
