Symphony No. 9 'Choral' is the ninth symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1824. It is a large-scale Romantic era symphony that uses vocal soloists and a chorus in the final movement, combines orchestral and vocal forces with an expanded harmonic vocabulary and wide dynamic range, and was Beethoven's last completed symphony written late in his career.
