New Soil
Album by Jackie McLean
New Soil is a studio album by American alto saxophonist Jackie McLean, released in 1959. The album has a hard bop foundation with blues inflections and a greater use of modal and freer harmonic ideas, and it comes during a period when McLean shifted from bebop roots toward those directions in his late 1950s and early 1960s recordings.
