L'Enfance du Christ is a sacred trilogy (oratorio) by French composer Hector Berlioz, completed and first performed in 1854. The work blends operatic drama, choruses and varied orchestral colour within a Romantic harmonic idiom to depict episodes from the early life of Christ, and it occupies a distinctive, more intimate place in Berlioz's output alongside his larger symphonic and stage works.
