Streichquintett C-Dur, op. 163
Album by Franz Schubert & Stross-Quartett & Oswald Uhl
The String Quintet in C major, Op. 163 is a chamber composition by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, completed in 1828. Scored for two violins, viola and two cellos, it combines expansive, lyrical melodies with rich harmonic exploration and a notably deep lower register, and as one of Schubert's final large-scale chamber works it occupies a significant place in his late oeuvre and in 19th-century chamber music.
