Symphony No. 1 "Titan" is the first symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, composed in 1888 and first performed in 1889. The work employs expansive late-Romantic orchestration, folk-like melodies and dramatic transformations across its movements, and it represents Mahler's early steps toward redefining the symphonic form at the turn of the 20th century.
