24 Caprices for Solo Violin
Album by Niccolò Paganini & Massimo Quarta
24 Caprices for Solo Violin is a set of 24 solo violin caprices by Italian violinist and composer Niccolò Paganini, composed in the early 19th century and first published in 1820. The works are characterised by extreme technical demands, including left-hand pizzicato, ricochet bowing and rapid arpeggios, and they expanded the technical and expressive possibilities of the violin while exerting a lasting influence on the instrument’s solo repertoire and pedagogy.
