Mass No. 5 in A-flat major is the fifth mass by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, completed in 1822. The work is a large-scale liturgical composition for choir, soloists and orchestra, characterised by expansive melodic writing, rich harmonic language and an early Romantic expansion of classical mass-setting techniques, representing one of Schubert's mature sacred works that reflects his increasingly symphonic approach to liturgical music.
