Symphony No. 4 in F Minor
Album by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky & Herbert von Karajan & Berliner Philharmoniker
Symphony No. 4 in F minor is the fourth symphony by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, completed in 1878. The four-movement orchestral work combines Romantic lyricism with dramatic orchestration, centred on a recurring 'fate' motif and expansive string and wind writing, and represents a pivotal stage in Tchaikovsky's development as a symphonist within the late-Romantic Russian tradition.
