Symphonie no. 8
Album by Gustav Mahler & Staatskapelle Berlin & Pierre Boulez
Symphony No. 8 is the eighth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, composed in 1906. A late-Romantic, large-scale choral-orchestral work that employs massive orchestral and choral forces, dense counterpoint and hymn-like textures, it represents a culminating experiment in Mahler's integration of vocal and symphonic elements and occupies a prominent place in his late-period output.
