Sinfonie Nr. 5 B-Dur

Album by Anton Bruckner & Michael Gielen & SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden‐Baden und Freiburg

Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major is the fifth symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1876. The work is a large-scale Romantic symphony characterised by complex contrapuntal writing, expanded orchestral forces with prominent brass and woodwind textures, and a broad formal structure, and it occupies a pivotal position in Bruckner's oeuvre as an example of his mature symphonic technique.
