L'Absente is the fourth studio album by French composer and musician Yann Tiersen, released in 2001. The album blends modern classical with folk-inflected electronics, uses piano, strings, accordion and layered vocal parts, and it has fuller orchestral arrangements and more collaborative writing than his earlier mainly instrumental releases.
