String Quartets, Volume 6: No. 5 in F minor, op. 9 / No. 7 in A minor, op. 16
Album by Antonín Dvořák & Vlachovo kvarteto Praha
String Quartets, Volume 6: No. 5 in F minor, Op. 9 / No. 7 in A minor, Op. 16 is a paired collection of string quartets by Antonín Dvořák, composed in the early 1870s. Firmly rooted in the Romantic chamber tradition, the works combine lyrical melodies, dramatic minor-key writing and folk-influenced rhythms and harmonies, and they show Dvořák progressing towards a more distinctively Czech voice within established classical forms.
