Symphony no. 6, op. 74 "Pathétique"

Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 74 'Pathétique' is the sixth symphony by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, completed and premiered in 1893. The work is a late-Romantic orchestral piece characterised by sweeping, highly emotional melodies, rich orchestration and striking contrasts between movements, and as Tchaikovsky's final completed symphony it represents his late-period style and remains an enduring part of the symphonic repertoire.
