Sonates pour piano 1 à 5 are the first five piano sonatas by Alexandre Scriabine, composed between 1892 and 1907. They chart Scriabine's stylistic evolution from late-Romantic, Chopinesque piano writing to an increasingly chromatic and harmonically adventurous idiom, moving from clear tonal structures to more ambiguous, dissonant textures that foreshadow his later mystical and atonal explorations and mark an important phase in his development as a composer.
