String Quartets nos. 1 & 2

Album by Alexander Porfyrevich Borodin & Lark Quartet

String Quartets nos. 1 & 2 are two string quartets by Russian composer Alexander Borodin, composed in 1879 and 1881. They use Romantic harmony and folk-influenced themes, feature lyrical slow movements alongside lively fast movements, and come from the later part of Borodin's compositional career when he wrote chamber music for smaller ensembles.
