Li'l Abner

Album by Shelly Manne

Li'l Abner is a studio album by American jazz drummer Shelly Manne, released in 1957. It is a set of jazz interpretations of music from a Broadway show played in a West Coast jazz style with concise arrangements, varied rhythmic feels, space for improvisation and tight ensemble interplay, and it was made during a phase when Manne recorded several albums that adapted stage material for small groups.
