Symphony no. 1 in C minor, op. 68
Album by Johannes Brahms & Herbert von Karajan & Berliner Philharmoniker
Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68 is the first symphony by German composer Johannes Brahms, completed and first performed in 1876. The work has late-Romantic orchestration and dense harmonic language, with expansive structures and a slow-building finale that draws on classical models, and it closed a long period in Brahms's career during which he worked to write a symphony.
