Symphony no. 2 in D
Album by Jean Sibelius & Sir Malcolm Sargent & BBC Symphony Orchestra
Symphony No. 2 in D major is the second symphony by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, completed in 1902. The orchestral late-Romantic work is characterised by expansive themes, rich brass and string textures and concentrated developmental processes, and it represents a consolidation of Sibelius's symphonic approach that contributed to early 20th-century Nordic musical developments.
