Serenade in B-flat major for 13 Wind Instruments / Divertimento in F major
Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Scottish National Orchestra Wind Ensemble & Paavo Järvi
This release is a recorded pairing of two chamber works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, originally composed in 1781–82 and the early 1770s. Both pieces exemplify Classical-period wind and divertimento writing, featuring varied wind timbres, contrapuntal textures and expanded harmonic thinking that illustrate Mozart's development in writing for large wind ensembles and his contribution to the chamber repertoire of the period.

First released: 1987
