This release is a collection of sacred vocal works by Italian composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, composed in 1736. Written in the late Baroque idiom, the pieces feature expressive vocal lines supported by continuo and small-scale ensemble textures, and they were composed near the end of Pergolesi's brief career, influencing subsequent Italian sacred vocal practice.
