Carnival of the Animals

Carnival of the Animals is a musical suite by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, composed in 1886. The suite comprises a series of short, programme-style movements for chamber ensemble and two pianos that employ playful motifs, vivid instrumental colour and wit to evoke animal characters, and it was written as a private divertissement late in Saint-Saëns's career and largely withheld from publication during his lifetime.
