Quinta Sinfonía is the fifth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1902. The symphony is a large-scale late-Romantic orchestral work characterised by dramatic contrasts, complex counterpoint and rich orchestral colour, including a funeral march and an extended slow movement, and it marks a pivotal point in Mahler's output as he shifted towards purely instrumental forms and greater structural cohesion.
