Simple Symphony

Album by Benjamin Britten

Simple Symphony is a four-movement suite for string orchestra by English composer Benjamin Britten, written in 1934. Drawing on themes from his earlier juvenilia, the work blends pastoral lyricism, playful rhythms and concise classical forms, and it occupies an early place in Britten's output that foreshadows his later orchestral and vocal writing.
