Piano Concerto in A minor / Peer Gynt Suite
Album by Edvard Grieg & Peter Katin & London Philharmonic Orchestra & Sir John Pritchard
Piano Concerto in A minor and the Peer Gynt Suite are orchestral compositions by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, composed in 1868 and 1875–1888 respectively. They exemplify late Romantic, folk-influenced Norwegian music through lyrical piano writing, distinct orchestral colours and folk-inspired motifs, and they occupy a central place in Grieg's output for establishing his international reputation and shaping the national Romantic tradition in Scandinavian music.
