Quarter-Tone Pieces
Album by Charles Ives & Ivan Wyschnegradsky & Josef Christof & Steffen Schleiermacher
Quarter-Tone Pieces is a set of compositions by American composer Charles Ives, composed in 1908. The works experiment with microtonality by calling for two pianos tuned a quarter-tone apart, representing an early exploration of non-standard tuning, dissonance and novel harmonic structures within Ives's output.
