The English Suites and the French Suites are collections of keyboard suites by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in the early 18th century, with the English Suites written around 1715–1720 and the French Suites around 1722–1725. Both collections combine Baroque dance movements, ornamentation, contrapuntal textures and demanding keyboard figurations, and they come from a phase of Bach's career when he developed his keyboard style during his Weimar and Köthen periods.
