Piano Quartets, op. 15 & op. 45
Album by Gabriel Fauré & Quartetto Werther
Piano Quartets, Op. 15 & Op. 45 are chamber works by French composer Gabriel Fauré, composed in 1879 and 1886 respectively. They exemplify late-Romantic French chamber music with lyrical piano writing, refined harmonic language and intimate string textures, and they occupy an early-to-middle position in Fauré's output as he developed his characteristic harmonic approach and economy of expression.
