Symphonies 1 & 2

Album by Jean Sibelius & Leopold Stokowski & Leopold Stokowski Symphony Orchestra & NBC Symphony Orchestra

Symphonies Nos 1 and 2 are orchestral symphonies by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, composed in 1899 and 1902. They combine late Romantic harmony and elements of Finnish folk music within a wider orchestral palette, and they show how Sibelius began to build a symphonic language that then influenced his later works.
