Klaviersonaten Opus 31 No. 1-3 is a set of three piano sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1801–1802. Musically, the sonatas combine classical sonata forms with increased rhythmic complexity, adventurous harmonic exploration and sharper contrasts of mood, reflecting Beethoven's shift toward a more individual, experimental approach that leads into his middle period.
