Water Music is a collection of orchestral suites by George Frideric Handel, first performed in 1717. The suites use Baroque orchestration with bright brass, varied woodwind colour and dance-derived rhythms suitable for outdoor performance on the River Thames, and they belong to Handel's early London period when he composed music for court and public occasions.
