The Four Seasons
Album by Antonio Vivaldi & Orchestre national de France & Lorin Maazel
The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725 as part of his Op. 8 collection. The concertos exemplify Baroque concerto form, featuring virtuosic solo violin writing and vivid programme-driven musical depictions of seasonal scenes, and they occupy a central place in Vivaldi's output and the Baroque instrumental repertoire.
