Djamileh is an opéra comique in one act by French composer Georges Bizet, premiered in 1872. Musically it combines late-Romantic orchestration with modal and exotic-inflected harmonies and intimate vocal writing, and represents a transitional work in Bizet's career exploring new harmonic colours and orchestral textures that anticipate elements of his subsequent operas.
