Brandenburg Concertos nos. 1, 2, 3
Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & Festival Strings Lucerne & Rudolf Baumgartner
The Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 1, 2 and 3 are three of six concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed and presented in 1721. They use groups of solo instruments set against a string ensemble and employ counterpoint and dance-like rhythms; the concertos belong to Bach's mature instrumental output and show his work with the concerto grosso form.
