String Quartets
Album by Claude Debussy & Maurice Ravel & Carmina Quartet
String Quartet in G minor, Op. 10 is the only string quartet by French composer Claude Debussy, composed in 1893. The work combines late-Romantic structures with an emerging impressionistic palette—evocative timbral effects, modal and whole-tone-inflected harmonies and shifting tonal centres—and occupies a key position in Debussy's development toward a distinct chamber-music voice.
First released: 1992
