Album by Charles Ives & Herbert Henck
Piano Sonata No. 2 "Concord, Mass., 1840–1860" is a piano sonata by American composer Charles Ives, composed in 1911. The work is characterised by dense dissonance, polytonality, polyrhythms and extensive notational experimentation that reflect Ives's incorporation of American vernacular and transcendentalist ideas, and it occupies a central place in his output as an expansive exploration of early twentieth-century modernist techniques.
