Verklärte Nacht is a string sextet composed by Austrian composer Arnold Schoenberg in 1899. Rooted in late-Romantic chromaticism and rich string textures, the work extends the expressive harmonic language of the 19th century while foreshadowing Schoenberg's later move towards atonality and occupies a key transitional position in his early output.
